The Coeliac's Safety Guide (Digital)
This is a short (15 page) guide for those of you who are close to someone with Coeliac Disease, an extreme allergy to gluten.
Gluten is everywhere, especially places you don't think to look. This makes it a confusing minefield to safely cook or share food with a Coeliac, especially if it's a recent diagnosis.
This beginner's guide covers:
The causes and consequences of a gluten poisoning
Examples of 'sneaky gluten' to be vigilant of
A supermarket safety guide, with some recommended brands (New Zealand only)
A kitchen safety guide, covering the most overlooked causes of poisonings
A quick guide to awkward situations, like what to do if you accidentally poison your loved one.
It does not cover 100% of all potential sources of contamination, just the most common and unexpected home scenarios. We highly recommend that if you're in a commercial environment you take professional food safety advice.
This was made as a gift for my partner, so that she can feel safe when a friend or family member cooks for her. As such, we're offering this as a "pay what you want", so you can either download it for free or if you feel really grateful to have this guide, you can pay what feels fair to you.
